"Where there is love in the home there is joy in the heart."
It's been 3 months since our return to the USA and we are finally beginning to feel grounded again.
We still have a lot to do to fully settle and our little house needs a lot of work, but spring has taken up residence in the mid-west and our garden is a hive of surprises.
We feel no need to rush anything, we're just taking in all the beauty that is around us, getting to know our neighbors, enjoying the company of our friends, and watching our children blossom along with the flowers.
This page was painted some time ago, it was inspired by Brenda Swenson, a wonderful artists who does the most beautiful negative painting I've ever seen. She has a brand new DVD out that teaches the technique and I can't wait to get my hands on a copy. Although this page is not done in the pure "negative" style, it was definitely influenced by her.
It is watercolor and ink in a Stillman & Birn "Beta" sketchbook.
Thanks for stopping by. xxx
