Friday Sketches - Week 9

Welcome to Friday Sketches.  This week I'm sketching 'Tea Cups'.

Who doesn't love sketching fun and colorful tea cups?  The subject is easy, but the patterns can be challenging.

I often sketch tea cups as a way of exploring new art materials.  When I pick up a new set of watercolors or some fun pens, rather than just scribble swatches, I like to sketch tea cups.

I also like to to sketch them when I am sitting at my kitchen table or in a coffee shop.  I like to do this at least once a week.

Sketching tea cups is also a great way to hold memories.  If the cup is beautiful and unusual, and the contents are delicious, then the memory is often infused with scents and sounds.

What have you been sketching this week?

Here are some wonderful sketches from some wonderful participants of last week's Friday Sketches
