Over the past few months I've been sketching as much of the essence of Australia as I can.
A couple of my sketches, like the Bush Telegraph (above) and The Drover (below) were done from photo reference rather than in the flesh.
But we've been taking lots of opportunity to get out and explore this beautiful country. Coastlines, national parks, mountain ranges, they are all here and they are beautifully unique and full of surprises.
Of particular interest to me has been the outback cottages and shacks. Where we are on the Bellerine Peninsula, there is no shortage of glorious rural and coastal architecture to sketch.
Australia is such a gloriously colorful place and trying to portray the light and colors in my sketchbook hasn't always been easy.
These are all pages from either my Stillman & Birn "Zeta" or "Beta" series sketchbook, using Sennelier watercolors and ink.
I love sharing my sketches of this beautiful country with you, these books hold amazing memories for me now.
Thanks for checking in. xx
