It's no secret I love painting flowers. I get a lot of emails about sketching and drawing flowers (amongst other things). I don't consider myself a particularly good sketcher, but I do love to do it.
Over the years, I've taken drawing and painting classes that have helped me develop my style (it's a work in progress). I'm amazed to say that I have picked up some tricks and techniques along the way, many of which have helped me become better and drawing.
In my Mastering Twinks class, each week I teach a little drawing lesson. These are simple and intuitive little lessons on how to sketch and draw certain subjects, and they are a great way from which to launch other drawing approaches.
This week we're looking at sketching simple daisies. They are a wonderfully forgiving subject to capture, and leave the artist lots of room for creative license when it comes to color. I must say I am amazed at how the students have run with the sketching lessons and are creating some amazing twinkling art.
These daisies were done in matte acrylics and Silks Acrylic Glaze in my Stillman & Birn Epsilon Series Sketchbook.
Early Bird Registration for the next session of "Mastering Twinks 1" is available now, class begins on October 17, 2013. Click here for more information.
Thanks for checking in. xx
