I have been juggling priorities in my studio lately, frustrated that I don't get as much time in there as I would like. I have a back-log of commissions, and a bucket load of video to edit.
The children are now on summer break, even though summer has yet to appear, and my days are peppered with "Hey Mom...wanna do this, or wanna do that??" (Substitute; play ball, paint, go to the park, ride your bike with me, go swimming, etc.)
But every now and then, I take a little moment when all is calm. I call this my sketchbook break. It's usually when Thomas is napping and Megan is engaged in something, usually a book. This time I combined my quiet time, with preparing for a commission. I received a brief from a client and they asked me to choose the flowers. After chatting with them, I decided that Day Lilies were for her.
This sketch was done in watercolor and watercolor pencil. I'll show you the finished work next time.
Thanks for checking in. xx
