Silks Acrylic Glaze really are one of the most beautiful products to come onto the market this year.
They are fluid acrylic paints, infused with mica and other minerals.
Their effects are simply stunning, and their versatility is unbounded.
One of the ways I like to use them is to decorate tote bags.
If you use a strong durable fabric, the paint will sit beautifully on the surface and the shimmer remains very bright.
Paint your tote as a canvas, or use a stencil to create beautiful designs. These make wonderful, affordable gifts.
Please note, Silks are archival and durable paints, but like most acrylics not designed specifically as fabric paint, they are not washable. So avoid using them on T-shirts or garments that will need to be laundered.
In my upcoming online class, "A Taste of Silks", I show you many more techniques for using them in your art.
A Taste of Silks start on December 21st, but there's still plenty of time to register as class access runs through until February 2013. Click here for more information.
