Images Of Christmas

Deck the halls with boughs of holly......

Did you ever wonder where the traditional colors of Christmas come from?

I don't know for sure, but it seems that holly could well be the source.

There are lots of variety of holly around the world, and the traditional European variety was the one first used in Christmas wreaths.

Because of its dark glossy green leaves and its bright read berries, holly makes the perfect decoration.

I love to fill my sketchbook pages with images of Christmas. This holly sprig was done in my Stillman & Birn "Beta" Series Sketchbook using Luminarte's Silks Acrylic Glaze as watercolor.

If you'd like to learn all about these beautiful paints and how to get the most from them, then please join me for my upcoming online class "A Taste of Silks".  Click here for more information or to register.

Seasons Greetings everyone, and thanks for checking in. xx
